How to install widgets on Samsung smart TV. Installing third-party applications on Samsung Smart TV K series. Install from a flash drive

Widgets are utility modules for working in a specific environment (on a web resource or on a device) and for performing one specific function. In this article we will be interested in widgets for Smart TV and their installation.

Why they need to be linked to Smart TV can be seen from the following.

The fact is that if your device accesses an Internet resource through a browser, then it must have on board the ability to digest a large amount of operational data. Televisions do not have such features.

And here widgets come to the rescue - graphical shell programs that display on the screen information generated somewhere in the cloud.

It turns out that widgets installed on Smart TV do not significantly reduce the time the image is reflected for the viewer, but make this reflection almost instantaneous.

Categories

According to their purpose, Smart TV widgets are divided into those that can be installed for viewing:

  • information packages (news, currencies, maps, etc.);
  • special applications for 3D content;
  • sites related to training;
  • thematic videos of various directions;
  • with access to social networks, etc.

Where to get it

The most significant players in the market (Samsung, LG, Philips, Sharp) have their own public web sites where you can purchase ready-made applications for any brand.

For LG, this is the LG Apps TV service. Philips has AppGallery.

A wide variety of software for Samsung is presented in the online TV store Samsung Apps.

In addition, since Samsung has opened its Smart TV platform to third-party developers, there are a lot of available utilities for their product on the free Internet.

Widgets for Samsung Smart TV can be found, for example, here http://smarttvnews.ru/widgets/.

Install as standard

To install the application, you need to go to the Smart TV menu (SmartHUB - we get into it using the red button on the remote control). In the search window, type the name of the widget. Then activate the search and simply follow the autotips.

At the end of the process, exit the store site - newly installed widgets are found in bookmarks.

If you can’t install them this way, you can try (after checking your Internet connection) to install them from a flash drive.

Install from a flash drive

Installing an application for Smart TV from a flash drive begins with preparatory operations.

First you need to format the flash drive in FAT32 format. It is convenient to do this in a specific program (download https://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/).

By inserting the flash drive into the slot and indicating the required letter to the program, we activate “Start” to begin formatting:

On the formatted flash drive you need to create a userwidget directory:

It is this folder that will be intended for placing in it those widgets that you find for yourself on the Internet.

IMPORTANT. No need to unpack archives contained in the userwidget directory

The TV autonomously detects the Smart TV application recorded on the flash drive and installs it.

At the beginning of this procedure there will be a message including USB package will be started (installation from USB has started), and at the end - package is done (package installation is completed).

After this procedure, a new widget should appear in the Smart TV menu.

Installation from IP address

For TVs Samsung E-series you need to activate the Smart HUB button (HUB is TV). Activate the red button on the remote control.

IN account Samsung is substituted with the value develop. The password value is determined automatically and is not entered by the user.

Tap on the “Login” button highlighted in red:

Enter the IP of the application itself - it is contained in the application overview or on the website:

If everything is entered correctly, the installation will begin.

You definitely need to restart your Smart TV - log out of it and log in again.

On TVs of other series you will need to use similar menu sections.

For Samsung F-series, use the value “sso1029dev!” as the password.

Finally, we present the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with detailed video about installing Smart TV widgets for different models Samsung.

Advice! For many TVs, these instructions will look slightly different. The easiest installation method is described above; it is suitable, for example, for Samsung j series TVs. For most modern devices You will need widget addresses.

  • As a result, we see that “develop” is written in the lower left corner (highlighted in orange in part B of the figure).
  • After that, press the “Tools” button on the remote control, select the “Settings” section, then “Developer”, accept the terms of the agreement and select the “Setting the server IP address” option. (shown in part A of the figure in the red box).

  • In the window that appears, which is shown in Figure (B), enter the IP address of the developer server, that is, the widget address itself. You can find it on the application’s official website or in its description. After entering, the installation will begin.
  • Restart Smart TV and find the installed widget in the list.

On TVs of other series, you also need to look for similar items in the menu. For Samsung F series, in the developer name and password you will need to enter “develop” and “sso1029dev!” respectively.

In other models you just need to enter “develop”, and the password is entered automatically.

Today we will look at all possible questions related to Samsung Apps. Let's figure out how to install them, update them, or remove unnecessary ones. And for the convenience of moving through the Smart TV menu, between applications and services, I recommend buying computer mouse. Absolutely any mouse will do, as long as it comes with USB interface(although now everyone is probably like that). You can take the cheapest wired one, or you can take the wireless one so as not to go to the TV every time. Insert into any USB connector.

here before us is a huge number various programs and sports broadcasts, and information resources and a bunch of other things. Most of them, unfortunately, are designed for watching programs in English, but there is also something for Russian-speaking viewers.

As you can see, everything is divided into categories here. You can also go to “Most Popular Applications” and there choose something suitable for yourself. To find out detailed information about the service you like, select and press “Enter” on it on the remote control or click with the mouse. The menu of this widget will open and you will see additional options. information, and here you can install it so that in the future you can watch movies or other programs using this service:

Note. It happens that the installation freezes. Or it seems like one or two have been installed, then nothing else wants to be installed. The way out of this situation is this: turn off the TV (sometimes you can even turn it off from the outlet if nothing works), and then turn it on again and everything should work fine.

How to remove unnecessary Samsung Apps applications

This can be done in two ways.

1. In the main menu of Smart TV, right-click on unnecessary application and select “Delete”:

Select here, in the right window, the service that you want to delete, go to its menu (press “Enter” on it or with the mouse) and click on the “Delete” item on the left:

Note. It is worth noting that you can only remove applications from third-party developers; standard ones (they are already installed from the start) cannot be removed.

I would also like to note that if you experience some specific Smart TV glitch, they won’t install additional applications or not at all Samsung buttons Apps even though you have updated everything, in this case a general reset may help.

How to do a general reset of Smart TV settings

You can do this as follows. In the Smart TV menu, click “Tools” on the remote control or select the “Service” menu in the lower right corner of the screen and select “Settings” in the window that appears:

Naturally, after this operation all your settings on Smart TV and installed applications will be destroyed, and everything will have to be done anew.

Well, that’s actually all I wanted to tell you today about installing and managing applications from Samsung Apps. If you have any questions, ask in the comments.

And I’ll say goodbye to you for a moment. All the best! And see you soon.

IMPORTANT!!!

Often, owners of Samsung smart TV experience certain problems, which, after some time, disappear on their own and everything starts working as it should. Here, as the closest example, is Vladimir’s comment:

and a few days later he writes that everything was decided by itself:

this is not an isolated case, so I decided to add this to the article so that you, in case of any problems, do not panic, but to begin with, just wait . There is a possibility that they released crude firmware that crashes or works with errors. And as soon as the developers see the problem and solve it, the TV will work as it should again.

The first herald of this technological process, which is often called the "system" smart House“That’s exactly what Smart TV was.

The essence of Smart TV technology is quite simple: using a module built into the TV or a connected receiver, the TV actually turns into a tablet that has a number of specialized functions.

Of course, first of all, such a device is intended to

But you can also play interactive games, visit websites through the built-in browser, and perform many other activities that were previously only possible with computers, tablets, and smartphones.

Getting started with Smart TV

Since the South Korean brand is one of the most popular manufacturers of TVs with the function in question, setup and connect Samsung Smart TV.

Conventionally, this process can be divided into two stages: hardware and software connection.

The first includes physical connection consoles, as well as configuration network connection on it or directly on the TV.

This procedure is not that difficult, but it has a number of nuances, so it is worth devoting a separate article to it.

The software connection includes installation/uninstallation Smart applications TV, as well as their direct setup.

To enable this mode, the remote control has special button, which may differ slightly depending on various models TVs.

After which you will be taken to the Smart TV menu, all applications (widgets) of which are located in several feeds (their specific appearance depends on the version of the built-in operating system, which, in turn, depends on the TV series).

Here you can find many pre-installed applications, many of which are free.

But most of the media content services provided have many paid features and subscriptions.

Built-in application manager

Each Smart TV has its own analogue of Google Play or Apple Store, in the case of Samsung equipment, this is Samsung Apps.

In order to enter the official widget directory, you must select the appropriate section on the screen.

Having selected the application you like from the appropriate category, you can go to its page and download it to the TV there.

As a rule, all programs in the store are quite lightweight, so downloading them takes less than a minute even with an average Internet channel.

After this, the new widget should appear in the “Custom” section in the main Smart TV interface.

Uninstallation is carried out in the same way:

In the left navigation panel, go to the “Downloaded Applications” section.

Select the unnecessary widget and click on the “Delete” interface button.

An alternative method involves using the remote's Tools button, which calls up service menu.

It also has a delete feature.

Working with the Samsung store is quite convenient, but the installation unofficial applications will require a bit more effort.

Installing custom widgets

However, you can only find truly free TV, applications, widgets, games and other entertainment for Smart TV by installing third-party programs.

It should be immediately noted that depending on the series of Samsung TV, indicating the year of manufacture of the model, the procedure for working with custom widgets may differ slightly.

First, let's look at this process using the example of a J series TV (2015 release).

1. First, you need to prepare a flash drive on which the files of the installed programs will be placed. She must have file system in FAT32 format.

2. Then a folder called “userwidgets” is created on it and the files of the necessary widgets are copied into it.

3. After this, the flash drive is inserted into the turned on TV, which should automatically recognize new programs. A corresponding pop-up message will inform you about the start of the process.

4. A pop-up message at the top of the screen will also indicate the successful completion of the procedure.

5. Installed widgets will be located in the “My App” subsection of the “Applications” section. Removing user programs is carried out in the standard way.

All this is very similar to working with a regular desktop computer.

But older TV models from Samsung, for example, the previous H series, are not so convenient in terms of customizing custom software.

1. The first step is to log into your Samsung account, for which you need to press the Menu button on the remote control and follow the path Smart Hub - Samsung Account.

2. Select the Log in menu item, and then Sign in.

3. In the login field, enter the value develop, and leave the password field empty. We confirm the specified data using the Sign in button.

As a result of such actions, a service menu will open, in which we are interested in the “Start User App Sync” item (start synchronizing user applications).

5. At this stage, the Develop IP Setting window will open (developer’s IP settings, which indicates the specific IP address of the server from which the custom widget will be downloaded.

Advice: for each such application this address will be different. Get to know him specific values can be found on the developers' website. For example, the same nStreamLmod will be loaded from the address 5.45.116.112 or 213.115.22.226).

6. New widgets will also be located in the “My Apps” section

This concludes the description of the technical side of working with Smart TV, now you can move on to considering applications that provide access to a variety of media content.

Classification of custom widgets

The area of development for Smart TV is not very developed at the moment, so a kind of anachry reigns in it.

There are no centralized large portals dedicated to collecting and cataloging everything software for Smart TV.

Some large services, such as VKontakte or YouTube, create their own applications, individual volunteer developers post their products on Web 2.0-style sites, and each thematic site has its own radically different view on the ranking of the best widgets.

But still, programs for Smart TV can be divided into several large thematic categories:

  • Services with a variety of searchable video content, such as Yota Play or IVI;
  • Products focused on working with IPTV streaming;
  • A variety of games and their aggregators;
  • Information widgets dedicated to news, punishments, exchange rates, etc.;
  • Applications for working with social networks;
  • Programs for viewing 3D content;
  • Large aggregators of various functions designed to compensate for the minimal interface of the built-in Smart TV browser.

All this wealth is so “spread out” on the Internet that you can only find something worthwhile on the basis of user reviews.

List of the best widgets for Smart TV

Based on the analysis of many specialized forums, we can conclude that each Smart TV user must have a standard minimum of programs installed, which are universal tools for using this function.

ForkPlayer

In the first place is to put ForkPlayer, created as a standard free Samsung Smart TV browser.

Its operating principle is similar to Opera Mini: it adapts regular websites for viewing on a TV in exactly the same way as Opera did for phones.

In addition to surfing the Internet, ForkPlayer makes it possible to create and use custom playlists.

TheDark SmartTV Media Center

Another universal combine for expanding the capabilities of Smart TV is TheDark SmartTV Media Center.

This application has dozens of functions, ranging from playing webstream videos to the ability to view photos in slideshow mode.

There is also an extended version of this software called The Dark SmartTV Media Server, which allows you to configure connections between your TV and a computer running Windows, thereby creating a powerful multimedia center.

XSMART

Another similar development is XSMART.

It differs from its competitors from the previous paragraph by supporting many large content platforms, in particular the Ukrainian semi-closed file hosting service EX.UA.

With the help of these three widgets you can get free TV, TV channels, games and other joys of the modern digital world.

At the same time, you don’t have to pay to use all this variety of opportunities, which sets custom applications apart from the offerings in Samsung Apps.

Watching TV on Android devices

Mobile gadgets have become an integral part of the modern information space.

Therefore, in this article it is worth mentioning the possibility of watching streaming television on devices running the Android operating system.

Peers.TV

The best app for this task is Peers.TV, which also has a version for iOS.

In it you can find almost any of the major TV channels and watch its broadcast absolutely free.

Moreover, the entire archive of broadcasts is saved for a week, which makes it possible not to miss your favorite program broadcast at an inconvenient time for you.

Peers.TV also makes it possible to watch Internet TV through IPTV playlists, which will be appreciated by fans of specialized content.

We hope that detailed instructions, described in this article will help many Samsung TV users better understand the Smart TV function and get a truly unforgettable experience with a variety of content.
