How to unlock iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 3GS using SAM

Many owners of iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 3GS locked to an operator could not fully use the gadget for a long time. Today, Chinese hacker Loktar_Sun shared a new method for unlocking absolutely any iPhone (the modem version is absolutely not important). Thus, this day became a turning point for owners of Apple bricks.

The effectiveness of this method was confirmed by the leading hacker MuscleNerd from the DevTeam, who unlocked the iPhone 4S. It is possible that Apple will close this loophole soon, so we recommend that you save the activation file for your iPhone.

If after watching you were unable to unlock your iPhone and have questions, then the instructions will help you.

How to unlock iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 3GS using SAM.

Requirements for unlocking.

1. Carrier-locked iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS
2. Modem version 04.11.08, 02.10.04, 04.10.01, 04.12.01, 1.0.13, 1.0.14 and 1.0.11.
3. Firmware version iOS 5.0 and higher.
3. Installed iPhone jailbreak.

iPhone unlock process:

1. Add a repository to Cydia repo.bingner.com and install the SAM package from it;

2. Insert the SIM card into your phone that you want to use in the future (let’s say MTS) and launch SAM;

3. In the main menu, go to the section utilities and click on “De-Activate iPhone”. After this, return to the main SAM menu and go to the section “More Information”, in the ActivationState field you should see the status “Unactivated”, congratulations, so far everything is going well!)

4. In the main SAM menu, go to the “Method” section and select “By Country and Carrier”. At this step, you need to know the country and operator to which your phone is locked. Let's take an example from AT&T. In the “Country” field, select “United states”, and in the Carrier field, select AT&T (Cingular version). Finally select "SIM ID" ( we recommend the one that ends in 170).

Important! Very often, after completing the unlocking process and connecting the device to iTunes, an error occurs and iTunes writes that the inserted SIM card is incorrect, which means the “SIM ID” did not match. This means you need to repeat the entire unlocking procedure again and select a different “SIM ID”.

5. Go back to the section “More Information” and copy or write down IMSI from “SAM Details”. After all this click “Spoof Real SIM to SAM”

6. Next, return to the main SAM menu and in the section "Method" select manual mode. Then in the same main menu paste or enter IMSI saved in the previous step.

7. Connect your phone to iTunes. After the program has recognized the iPhone, double-click on “Phone Number”. The ICCID must match your SIM card, otherwise repeat the process.
8. Disconnect iPhone from iTunes. Disable or remove SAM.

9. Reconnect your iPhone to iTunes. The program will display an activation error, don’t be alarmed, everything is fine, as it should be. Close iTunes and launch it again.

10. After all this, your iPhone simply must catch the network and the name of your operator should appear on its gadget screen.

11. After this iPhone unlock operation, push notifications do not work. This can all be easily fixed. The next time you connect to iTunes in SAM, click on “Clear push”.

The only downside to using this unlocking method is that it only allows you to unlock your iPhone with a SIM card from one carrier. In order for your phone to work with another SIM card, the entire unlocking process must be repeated again.
Now you can easily unlock iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 3GS using the SAM package from Cydia.
