How to convert a text file to html

Convert txt to html

Download a document in the wrong format to your computer. Open it with Notepad. Typically for documents of the format txt text editor Notepad is the default program, that is, when you double-click on a file, it will open in Notepad. If txt documents are opened on your computer using another program (Word or others), then you should launch Notepad and open the file using the command File > Open or by pressing CTRL + O:

  • File name: instead of *.txt we indicate filename.html(for example, index.html, about.html, etc.);
  • File type: All files;
  • Encoding: instead of ANSI, specify UTF-8.

Since HTML to TXT converter does not perform character conversion (between KOI8-R, Windows-1251, DOS, Mac, etc.), here are several programs that you can use to convert characters.
