Play Poland how to make fast internet. Mobile operators in Poland - tariffs, coverage, codes. Cost of Internet data packages in T Mobile Poland when used in Europe

Not long ago, new anti-terrorism legislation was adopted in Poland. Among other things, the new standards established mandatory registration of SIM cards purchased from operators on specific person. It is now impossible to purchase and activate a starter kit of any operator without providing information about the owner.

The law also applies to previously purchased numbers. All of them must be registered or their service operators mobile communications will be blocked in Poland.

How to activate a Polish SIM card?

There is nothing complicated in the registration process. It can be done at almost any point of sale or office of a mobile operator.

An ID card is sufficient for this. For foreigners, , or .

Please note that some Polish mobile operators require not only personal data for activation, but also dialing a specific number or topping up your account. This information must be present on the packaging of the starter kit.

What Polish telecom operators are there?

There are enough products on the Polish market a large number of mobile operators. Each of them has its own characteristics. Let's consider the main ones:

  • T-Mobile and Heyah;
  • Play;
  • Plus;

Many mobile operators in Poland have already been reviewed in detail and will be mentioned briefly here. Some will require more detailed explanation. However, before finding out which Polish mobile operators tariffs, consider some features of the work Polish operators, which may seem unusual to a foreigner.

Refill

First of all, The account replenishment system is somewhat different from that usual in the CIS countries. Of course, you can top up your account at sales offices, with bank card via the Internet, etc., but more often people use terminals located in most stores. This is where the difference lies: in exchange for the funds provided, the buyer will receive a check with a unique number. Activating this code will lead to funds being credited. Otherwise, the money will not be credited to your account.

This technology also extends to small shops, where it is not the buyer who will deposit money into the terminal, but the seller working there. In any case, you will have a check with a number that needs to be activated.

This is a requirement of most operators in Poland. However, the majority is not all!

The information below does not apply to the Lycamobile network.

Many providers require a mandatory pre-replenishment of the account in an amount not less than the monthly cost of the selected tariff. Simply put, if the package provides for payment of 25 ZŁ per month, then by the time of payment the money must be in the account.

Otherwise, outgoing calls and SMS services will be unavailable, after a week the balance will be canceled, and after a month the SIM card will be blocked. Reactivating it may not be possible or may incur additional costs.

Depending on the operator and the selected services, the required amount may vary.

Automatic renewal of services

Another feature is auto-renewal services from some operators. That is, when purchasing such a package, for example, for a month, after this period the required amount will be automatically withdrawn for the next period.

In addition to the fact that the funds must be in the account, there is one more feature - You can cancel auto-renewal no later than 2 days before the payment due date. Some services can be completely disabled only by visiting the office in person.

Mobile operators in Poland

The Polish mobile communications market consists of 4 large operators, each of which in turn has so-called “virtual operators”, of which there are even more.

Upon arrival in Poland you will be able to purchase starter pack both in small shops and popular Ruch kiosks, and in mobile phone stores. Here, however, you need to be careful: Poles often visit mobile phone shops even for trifles, so be prepared for the fact that, most likely, you will have to take a number there and wait for your turn.

The so-called “big 4” in Poland usually include the following companies: Play, Orange, T-Mobile, and Plus.

How to conclude an agreement with an operator

Pay attention to the fact that until recently in Poland the most popular option was to conclude an agreement with an operator for a period of one to two years, or MIX (something between an agreement and a pre-paid option). If you are on this moment If you live in Poland on the basis of a visa, both of these options may not yet be available to you. At the same time, there may be some restrictions for persons with, depending on the network.

Differences between major operators

Due to the intense competition in the market, choosing an operator is more of a decision based on personal preference, brand recognition and love for a particular brand. If you need to maintain frequent contacts with relatives and friends in Ukraine, Russia or Belarus, then you need Further study the tariffs for international calls. In this case, the packages of the most popular operators may not be profitable for you.

Another important point is the possibility high-speed Internet connections LTE 4G, which is present in all large cities in Poland, so you can surf the Internet without any problems.

Each of the Polish mobile operators has concluded an agreement over the past couple of years with one of the music services such as Deezer, Tidal or Spotify. These sites are very popular in Poland, and often operators do not require payment for Internet traffic, which is spent on downloading and listening to music through these services.

In other words, megabytes of Internet that are spent on the website of a mobile operator’s partner music service or application become free for package users of this operator, and do not require additional payment.

So, let's move on to the classic version, which in Russian is usually called in the English manner - “pre-paid”, and in Poland - “na kartę”, and consider the offers and tariffs of the first operator.

Mobile operator PLAY

PLAY is one of the most popular mobile operators among young people and the newest one on the market. As of 2016, the standard price tag (the so-called “formula w Play” is as follows:

1 SMS to all networks - 0.09 zł
Internet - 0.02 zł / 100 kB

That is, it is at these standard prices that you will use the operator’s service package as soon as you buy the starter package and activate the “formula” in PLAY. For obvious reasons using a standard price tag is unprofitable and you will spend a lot of money on calls and SMS messages.

PLAY provides that after activating the formula, you will select one of its options that are offered by the operator:

T-mobile also has a virtual mobile operator, Heyah, which is known for its discounts on telephone conversations with Ukraine. Recently they have become more expensive and Heyah has ceased to be a universal operator for Ukrainian students. Although he still has a number of interesting proposals.

For example, there is even a Ukrainian version of the site, which explains how you can call a few selected numbers in Ukraine at a price of 0.35 zł/minute and that’s for only 9 zlotys per month. If you plan to make frequent calls to Ukraine, we recommend that you pay attention to this virtual operator.

Mobile operator Orange

Orange was until recently the most popular operator among young people and often rewarded its users for their trust and loyalty to their brand. For example, these could be movie tickets for 12 zł (a regular ticket costs about 30-33 zł) and discounts on tickets to the popular Orange Warsaw Festival.

However, lately, Orange has practically not produced any bright advertising campaigns, and therefore the offers of competitors today look much more interesting. Nevertheless, for the person who doesn't want to understand V different offers and complex “formulas”, option Orange may seem the most optimal solution , since it is very similar to the standard offers of mobile operators from Ukraine or Belarus.

The standard cost of services is as follows:

1 minute of calls to all networks - 0.29 zł
1 SMS to all networks - 0.15 zł
Internet - 0.12 zł / 100 kB

In addition to the standard offer at Orange, you can purchase a number of profitable packages with monthly payment, for example, free SMS and calls between subscribers within the network for PLN 2.90. Cheap, but you need to remember to top up your account in a timely manner. If most of your friends have Orange numbers, then this may be good decision. A package of free calls and SMS to all numbers in all networks will cost you 30 zł/month.

Mobile operator Plus

The last operator of the so-called “core four”. Last year I started a series of successful advertising company with the participation of the Polish national volleyball team. For those who may not know, volleyball is very popular in Poland, so the successes of the national team are often followed by the whole country.

So, as with other operators, you purchase a starter package of this operator for 5 zł, after which you call at the standard price:

1 minute of calls to all networks - 0.29 zł
1 SMS to all networks - 0.19 zł
Internet - 0.19 zł / 100 kB

10 PLN per month - SMS to all numbers for free
25 PLN per month - calls to all numbers for free
30 PLN per month - calls and SMS to everyone for free
35 PLN per month - free calls and SMS to everyone + 3 gb LTE 4G internet.

Summing up and comparing mobile Internet

Those who plan to frequently use LTE 4G Internet should consider additional Internet packages:

1) Play - additional 3 GB can be ordered for 9zł;
2) T-mobile - additional 1 GB will cost you 10zł;
3) Orange - for 2 GB per month you will pay 12zł;
4) Plus - the cost of the service will be one of the highest on the market - 1 GB it's worth it here 15 zł.

To summarize, if you intend to use Internet LTE 4G, and most of your friends are young people in big cities, then the most the best option you will be able to use Play tariffs(even in the standard price tag, the offer is the most profitable - only 0.02zł per 100kb), if the Internet is not so important, then T-mobile or Orange.

The Pre-paid Plus offer is currently the most expensive, so if you do not sign an individual contract with a green network, the Plus offer is not profitable for you.

Play, owned by P4, was the smallest of the 4 network operators in Poland. But due to their aggressive pricing policy, it moved to second position in 2016/7.

By the end of 2013, it covered 80% of the population on 3G/UMTS on 900 and 2100 MHz, which is misleading and still called "4G". But real 4G on LTE 800, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz is available to 92% of the population since 2017: Play coverage map (follow the link, it shows “4G/LTE”, combined UMTS and LTE! Bright purple 3G/HSPA+ area, dark purple 4G/LTE).

Play has about 5,000 of its own towers in the country, which is much less than the other 3 operators. Many Play subscribers have free access to all Polish 2G/3G networks, but other networks do not have 4G/LTE, and data transfer speeds in 3G roaming are limited to 3 Mbit/s for downloads and 1 Mbit/s for uploads. As a result, almost every tower (for any network) actually allows Play users to connect without additional fees for GSM and 3G internet. But the reduced Play Internet na Kartę plan remains excluded from roaming and on Play's more limited own network. Their own coverage is 8-20% lower than other providers.

Play has one of the most confusing SIM card portfolios in Europe. They have different tariff lines with different add-ons and default rates. As a rule, all tariff lines can be switched, but not to/from the cheapest tariff, called Play Internet na Kartę. Their English website contains descriptions of some prepaid plans, as well as instructions for choosing a plan, but does not contain significant information about the "Internet na karte" offer or how to cancel the package, which is only available in Polish or here.

Buy SIM card Play

Their SIM card can be purchased at kiosks, gas stations and other retail outlets: Play stores. If you want to be sure that the SIM card will be registered at the point of sale upon purchase, visit the Play store and present your ID. Registration takes place in all Play stores, Ruch kiosks and post offices(see map).

Top-up vouchers are available at gas stations, supermarkets and most other places, starting from 5 PLN up to 150 PLN. To check your balance, you need to dial *101#.

You can also download the Play24 app for iOS and Android to manage your account and check your balance.

Play na Kartę is a standard line of prepaid products, available for 5 PLN in the starter package. You can switch from any tariff to this line by dialing *163*6#. The card is valid for 10 days. Default data: PLN 1.20 per MB.

Top-ups from 5 PLN are valid for 5 days, up to 100 PLN for 150 days. They do not include bonus data and you must add a data pack (see below).

Play na Kartę Lubię to!

This product line can be used with the same starter pack. This plan must be activated/changed by dialing *163*7# and the card is active for 10 days with high speed data up to 250MB to start with. Internet is free and unlimited by default, but is limited to a slow speed of up to 32 Kbps. To extend the validity period, you must top up your account to qualify for the data bonus. For each replenishment:
up to 9 zlotys, you get a 50 MB bonus and a 5-day validity period
up to 24 zlotys, you get a 200 MB bonus and a 10-day validity period
up to 49 zlotys, you get a 500 MB bonus and a 30-day validity period
up to 99 zlotys, you get a bonus of 1.5 GB and a 100-day validity period
PLN 100 or more, you get a 3.5 GB bonus and a 150-day validity period

To get higher speed data you need to add a package (see below).

Characteristics of data packets

The following monthly data packages work with Play na Kartę and Play na Kartę Lubię to!:
600 MB for 5 zlotys - activation: *111*541*1#
2 GB for 9 zlotys - activation: *111*542*1#
6 GB for 20 zlotys - activation: *111*543*1#

All packages are automatically renewed and provide a 100 MB bonus after renewal. To stop the package, you must enter the activation code, replacing the last digit from 1 to 2. To check the use of the data package, you must enter the activation code, replacing the last digit with *3.

This plan caused a revolution in the Polish market when it was introduced in the spring of 2017. The starter package is available for 5 zlotys without add-ons. All top-ups remain valid indefinitely as long as top-ups are made once a year. You can switch to this plan by dialing *163*20#.

All packages will also remain valid "forever" until they are used up. You can add call packages and the following two data packages:
1 GB forever for 5 zlotys - activation: *111*842*1#
6 GB forever for 25 zlotys - activation: *111*843*1#

To check your balance you need to dial *180#. The packages are more expensive than other plans, but they don't end there. The tariff for use above the established limit is 0.02 zlotys per MB. You are charged PLN 2 per month without any use.

Play Internet on Kartę

Remember that Play Internet na Kartę users only have access to Play’s own network, unlike other tariffs, and in this regard there is no national roaming(see above). Their Play Internet na Kartę line has the cheapest domestic data with slightly higher call and text rates. The default data tariff remains very low at 0.02 PLN per MB. This prepaid line cannot be changed by other plans.

It comes in different starter packs with an add-on to get you started, with a SIM card only or with a dongle:
free: Wypróbuj 4G LTE Ultra with 500 MB for 3 days
9 zlotys: 3 GB starter package with 3 GB add-on valid for 7 days

PLN 159 starter package 30 GB + Huawei E3372h 4G
219 PLN starter pack 3 GB + Huawei E5573 4G WI-FI

The default data tariff is very low at 0.01 PLN per MB. To add more data, you need to top up your account with the following amounts, which are transferred to the data:

Replenishment Volume Expiration date
5-9 zlotys 500 MB 5 days
10-19 zlotys 3 GB 7 days
20-29 zlotys 6 GB 14 days
30-49 zlotys 9 GB 30 days
50-74 zlotys 15 GB 60 days
75-99 zlotys 30 GB 90 days
100 PLN 50 GB 120 days

In addition, the so-called “unlimited Internet packages” can only be booked on the Play Internet na Kart only tariff line:
“unlimited” Internet during the day (= 24 hours) FUP = 10 GB: 5 zlotys, activation: *111*791*1#
“unlimited” Internet for a week (= 7 days) FUP = 30 GB: 20 zlotys, activation: *111*789*1#
“unlimited” Internet for a month (= 30 days) FUP = 100 GB: 49 zlotys, activation: *111*783*1#

All of these "unlimited" add-ons are automatically updated and can be stopped by changing the last digit of the activation code from 1 to 2. "Unlimited" is limited by FUP, which reduces the data transfer rate when exceeding the set limit to 1 Mbps.

EU roaming surcharge

Play in Poland is exempt from "roaming like at home" and does not allocate EU roaming data at domestic rates, but from 15 June 2017 charges an additional fee of 0.09 PLN per MB (= 90 PLN per GB) on all their new plans, and reduced packages will be offered.
