Setting up for trash places xp deus 4.0. Xp deus - optimal settings from fortune. Don't try to master everything at once

I'll tell you about small changes to the settings for yourself.
Prog DEUS FAST
Discriminant: 1t/2t was 6.8 now 15; 2t/3t was 76 became 70; 3t/4t was 95 now 90
Tones: was 3, now 4.
1 tone was 202 became 262
2 tone 518/440
3 tone 644/658
4 tone 757/782
IRON LEVEL was 3 now 5
REACTIVITY was 3 now 2
The remaining settings were not changed.
As a result, all hardware can be heard (initially it was discriminated), and the sound from other targets has become more acceptable. The iron sector can be adjusted both upward and downward.
In principle, all programs can be changed and configured in the same way, but the beauty is in these very adjustment nuances.
As I understand, the SILENCER parameter lives its own life, because even if saved in the program, the next time it is turned on, it again stands at the level determined by the device itself.
Minus one at Reactivity 0 results in the “release” of non-ferrous metal in a heap of iron, but you shouldn’t expect miracles. If you cover a colored target tightly with ferrous metal (by “densely” I mean heaped on all sides), then Deus will not “see” the non-ferrous metal. On the pile YES, he will see it, under it__no.
//Kastet Kastetych

Today I checked the work of Deus with “hot” stones and a meteorite.
With a standard GB (90 units), he does not “see” any of the listed items.
When the GB decreases (70 units))__ “sees”, but does not provide VDI. The sound is blurry. The sound from the coin is clearer and the VDI readings are immediately available.
Katya’s 2nd nickel sees on/under/between “hot” stones very well and flat/edge-on, correctly identifies. Edgewise across the VDI “floats” down, but this is there even without the HA.

Just discovered interesting point, in order to save changes in the engineer, after changing the engineer, on the current program, you need to save, the engineer is not a global change in the entire device, but specific changes for the current program. Each program has its own engineer.
Don't be afraid to change various settings in engineering, because When you restore the program, the settings in the engineer are also reset

With this manner of searching, everything that “jumps” out of the ground larger size 70x70x5 mm. The larger the target, the deeper Deus senses it.
The iron will naturally “beat” the color, but these are the rules of the game.

Well, here are my settings for Basis 2.
Frequency 18; Iron 0; Reaction 2; Noise reduction 2; The discriminance varies locally from 7 to 9 (because in real life you will dig up a lot of forged nails); Response 5; TX in place.
Now in detail: well, the frequency is clear. The higher the value, the more sensitive it is to fines and low-conductivity metals. The sound of iron should not distract from heavily camouflaged targets (for example, 3 attachments from a screwdriver in a standing position in a gold ring (2g) and 4 around the perimeter while lying down with a discriminance of 4 give a digging signal with a VDI of 10-14-22 (depending on the scanning angle) If you change the nozzles to forged nails, the discriminance must be raised to 6. In this situation, the reactivity will give the longest signal. At 1, the sound will be very short. And this is all with a noise reduction of -1. and such a target will be missed.
This also applies to scales. Coins that are larger in the signal aggregate give readings higher than the default Discriminator settings at any position of the Shumodav.
This is my view on program 9.
//Kastet Kastetych

NBR AUTO TRACKING -1 and DECALAGE - 0. Instant ground adjustment. Now I use the machine on Basic 1. I am pleased with the device. For the empire I lower the discrimination to 6. I set the tones to 0-6, 6-45, 45-88, 88-95
Frequencies are 200, 400, 702, 791. Then the golden fives (62-64) and tens (68-71) fall into the sector 45-88, and the aluminum wire, since the VDI jumps, is easily distinguished. But this is for the farms that lived to see the Soviets.
I was very pleased with the Deus FAST program on the trash can, you spin around in one place, finds come out where the crowd passed, but with it you have to carefully sniff out and listen carefully.

On one of the forums I found a settings option for XP Deus:

Tips for setting up the device from Konstantin (aka Kastet Kastetych)

I would recommend that Deus users set the sound to 4 tones, with these characteristics. 1t=202; 2t=623; 3t=702; 4t= 791;
Everyone is free to set the upper limits of discrimination themselves, at their own discretion. I have 0-7, 7-70, 70-90, 90-99.
It is better not to shift the frequencies, then TX-Power is available and it must be set to 3, by default it is almost always set to 2. What does this give? This is the accumulation of current in the coil, which adds those necessary few cm in the ground. Today I checked various options, and so, on 3, all the goals sounded clear and understandable. At 1, one target was taken rather weakly.
Next, if the place is not very littered: Reactivity 1, Silencer 0, Iron Volume 5, AudioResponce 5. All this is in order to compensate for the size of the Deus coil in comparison with other models.

And further: I noticed that when you reduce the TX by 1 device, it becomes 100% stable and the sensitivity can be raised to 97-98 and there is no particular loss in depth. And on the TX-3 the sensitivity limit is 95 - then the singing begins, although GB costs from 80 to 84.

Tips for ground balance in XP Deus from Konstantin (aka Kastet Kastetych)

Because Deus has constant tracking of the ground, there is no particular need to set TRACKING. At any moment you can look at what the topmost numbers in the right corner show (not the clock, of course) I build up from the ground and move the GB by 2-3 units. down to “pump” the soil. For us it's usually 74/76. As soon as there are a lot of glitches, I raise the GB a little higher. In the WET BEACH program, GB can be safely lowered to the values indicated by the device itself, this is usually 00, mine is 02. There are no unnecessary sounds in the surf - there is a goal, there is sound.
Long, high-pitched sounds give off “hot stones” - if there are a lot of them in the soil, you need to raise the GB to a level where they stop making sound. But some of the deep goals on the verge of definition will then fall into the “dead sector”.

Summary table of IM settings of the Deus menu depending on the program number.

Anyone interested in IM should definitely download it! Thanks to user konrod from a well-known forum... At this rate and engineering menu fully mastered..

(original text here: http://xpdeusfan.free.fr/settings/ )
(This is my fairly free translation. I tried to convey the meaning as much as possible.)

Below, in the table, you can find my 3 “favorite” configuration programs:

8K, Reactivity 0, TX power 3, for very clean search areas (forest for example)

12k, Reactivity 1, TX power 2, for general search

18k, Reactivity 2, TX power 1, for places littered with iron.

In fact, the VDI number (conductivity) depends on the frequency you use. Typically the same coin will give you different readings at different frequencies. Example: 76 at 18k, 70 at 12k and 61 at 8k.

Audio tones are tuned so that the same target will produce approximately the same sound, regardless of the frequency used.

For beginners, I suggest starting with the following settings:

Sensitivity= 93

Ground balance = 90

After several weeks of searching, your hearing will learn to identify useful targets and reject the following noises:
- false high-pitched iron sounds produced due to the discrimination setting being too low.
- false high sounds on high sensitivity related to the influence of soil (GB).
Once you learn how to do this, you can begin to gradually change the settings to the following values (Discri=2.5, Sens=97, Sil=-1, Audio Resp=2, GB= 75), which will give maximum effect when working with the device .

Iron volume can be smoothly reduced to 0 once you are able to distinguish iron by the false high-pitched sounds it produces.

My preferred setting, which I mostly use for searching, is the values in the second yellow column of the table:
Frequency 12K and beyond optimal settings:
Discrim=2.4, Sens=97, Power TX=2, Sil=-1, Audio Resp=2, GB= 75.

A useful, interesting target is one that produces a clear, high-frequency sound, and that sound does not change when the coil is raised above the target until the signal is lost.

Regarding the "audio response=2" setting: this is very useful to avoid introducing some distortion into the sound. The volume of the sound also gives information about the distance to the target: this is very useful for pinpointing its location (Pinpoint mode is almost unnecessary).
So you must learn to hear very quiet sounds In order to find deep targets, you will gradually learn to hear them, and the best assistant here is to use high quality headphones.
09/08/2010: I added a special blue column to the table, called "mode rococo": These are completely special settings for "advanced" users. The detector will be very sensitive and will be able to detect targets located under mineralized surfaces (eg mineralized brick). These settings allow the detector field to penetrate as deeply as possible into highly mineralized soils.
In this method, discrimination is completely disabled. As a result, iron targets respond in a medium tone (see note in the user manual on page 12 - "in case discrimination is below value 2"). So I reduced the mid tone tone setting to 200Hz.

With the right and systematic approach, even a beginner can fully master the XP Deus metal detector, and the time spent on mastering it will not be much more than one search season. It is clear that everyone, due to their different experience and knowledge, will have a different time to master a metal detector, but generally speaking, there is nothing extremely difficult in mastering the Deus, the main thing is to approach it correctly.

Psychological barrier

Having purchased XP Deus, you get a very powerful search tool in your hands, you get the feeling that the sea is knee-deep, you want to fill your pockets with finds on your first trip, but in reality it doesn’t work out that way. Remember, the first and most important task of the owner of a new metal detector is to master it, the findings are secondary, if even after a whole day of searching you did not find anything, but your understanding of the metal detector has improved - this is your best find, since this understanding subsequently will bring results.

Don't try to master everything at once

For those learning XP Deus from scratch, the instructions are the alpha and omega, do not neglect them, study large quantity The material must be approached in portions, that is, in parts; trying to study all the instructions at once is obviously a hopeless task. When studying, you should not jump over sections, but gradually go from simple to more complex, and not vice versa.

How to turn on Deus and what depends on the wiring speed

When turning on Deus, you should adhere to one rule: the coil should be kept away from the ground and iron objects; this rule applies not only to XP metal detectors.

Despite the fact that the XP Deus is a very fast and tenacious metal detector, the number of finds you get directly depends on the tracking speed, this is especially true for searching for small targets. With more thoughtful and leisurely wiring, Deus sees goals deeper.

Practical use

Knowledge that, being emphasized from the instructions, was not put into practice is worthless; you must pass all the material you have mastered through changing the settings of the Deus, and even more, you must absolutely clearly understand the pros and cons of such a change for searching.

The recovery speed parameter (reactivity) varies from 0 to 5, by increasing this parameter you can achieve excellent separating characteristics of the metal detector; it will see the coin located around the iron, i.e. when searching in littered areas, this parameter should be increased. The function is very interesting and may be tempting everyday use high recovery speed values, however, the downside of this setting is depth. The higher the recovery speed (i.e., the better XP Deus we see coins among iron nails), the less depth the metal detector can see. This is such a double-edged sword :)

Sounds and headphones

You can't fully master XP Deus without using headphones, and it doesn't matter what kind of headphones you use, wireless ones from XP or third-party companies. The volume of the signal from the target emitted by the Deus depends on the depth at which it is located and the deeper the find, the quieter it will sound, when the target is on the verge of visibility, the VDI of the target is not even displayed on the screen, but nevertheless it makes a sound and can be heard This sound is only possible with headphones.

Volume parameter weak signals(audio response) varies from 0 to 7, increasing this parameter, the volume of the response from deep targets increases, they begin to sound louder, but along with them ground noise will begin to sound louder, which will lead to general noise and a decrease in information content. In practice, I was rarely able to turn the volume of weak signals above 5 because noise interfered with the search.

Deus allows you to customize a lot of things in the sound response emitted when a target is detected, it took me a long time to choose a key that would be convenient and informative for me, I settled on polyphony.

Is a control unit needed?

The price of the XP Deus greatly depends on the configuration; there are inexpensive kits without a control unit in which the metal detector can be controlled via headphones. Configuring Deus via headphones is very different from the configuration options via the control unit, starting with firmware V5 and higher, the ability to configure the metal detector via WS4/5 headphones compared to previous versions has grown significantly, but nevertheless, the advantage in terms of customization capabilities is not in favor of headphones; if we express the difference in numbers, then the control capabilities via headphones do not cover even a third of the capabilities of the control unit. So if you bought Deus without a control unit and want to use the full potential of the metal detector, you still need to buy a control unit. It is worth noting that starting with firmware V5 and higher, the possibility of wider customization of the metal detector via WS4/5 headphones compared to previous versions has increased significantly, but up to

Ground balancing

Balancing the metal detector on the ground is the first thing you should do every time you arrive at a new place, Deus supports as many as 4 balancing options. In normal ground search mode, the balance can be set to any value in the range from 60 to 95; in beach search (turn on beach mode), the ground balance is adjusted in the range from 0 to 30.

The download mode is the most commonly used, everything is simple, select a place free of metals, turn it on, shake it, the metal detector is ready to search. Tracking mode is a kind of automatic setting, is used on difficult soil with frequently changing mineralization or where, for some reason, you cannot adjust the balance differently. Manual mode for an experienced searcher who sets the balance “by ear”. When searching on the beach, you should turn on the beach mode, but this is not enough, to adjust the balance you need to use the manual mode or swing.

In a clean area, after setting the balance, it is recommended to further reduce it by a couple of units, and if phantom signals occur, reduce the sensitivity.

Metal discrimination

At first I always used discrimination; it seemed to me that in this way I was simply limiting the amount of sound information about targets I didn’t need, i.e. I considered information about iron objects unnecessary. Later I realized that in order to more accurately identify colored targets, it is better to hear a full-fledged iron response than its stripped-down version, and I began to set the discrimination to zero, yes, at first it was not customary, but over time I got used to it and zero discrimination became the rule.

Please note that with discrimination set, you can still hear the sound emitted by iron objects, since their sound depends on the iron volume parameter; if you set it to zero, objects falling within the discrimination area will not sound, but if you increase this value they will be heard stronger and stronger, and at value 5 they will be pronounced. When polyphony is turned on or discrimination is turned off, the hardware volume value is ignored.

What settings affect depth?

What affects the depth of the XP Deus: sensitivity (sensitivity), search frequency (frequency), ground balance, recovery speed (reactivity), current in the coil (tx power), indirectly the volume of weak signals (audio response). It is worth considering that Ground balance affects depth more than sensitivity. Search comfort is affected by: ground balance, discrimination, iron response (iron volume) and noise reduction (silencer).

Searching in a heavily littered area

In such a place, the problem is not the abundance of ferrous metals, but colored pieces that cannot be excluded by discrimination, but you can try to see them even before digging, for this there is a hidden vectograph tool.

To turn on the vectograph, go to “select” and simultaneously start “+” and “pin”, then in the “selection” menu, select “tools”, go to it and click “show”. On the screen: a coin gives a clear straight line, foil and aluminum give an almost vertical line, non-ferrous metal gives an intricate shape different pictures, an iron rod gives a coin line when drawn transversely, but when drawn lengthwise it gives a coin line. In a littered area, one’s hands simply reach out to increase the response speed, but it should be taken into account that at speeds 0 and 1 we see the real picture, and at speeds 2 and higher there is a shift of garbage towards “coin” ones.

Unlike other metal detectors that have pre-installed search programs and not much freedom in changing settings, the XP Deus metal detector allows you to overclock the device to the maximum for use on any soil and any digging conditions. Of course, the depth of the device is not the deepest, but depth is not important where other metal detectors do not see certain targets, for example, small scales and medieval silver, gold, small jewelry. All the coins of Catherine the Great have already been raised with the simplest metal detectors, which means we have no choice but to look for small change in the fields and in littered places. We'll talk about Deus settings for trash cans.

Sometimes it is useful to dig deep iron signals - a horseshoe for luck!

Trash and trash are different and that's true. There is a trash can, which we process as standard and remove signal after signal, and there is a littered place where iron lies mixed with corks, flower beds and other garbage in the fields, and among these targets we need to find useful targets.

If we are digging in a field with an HF coil, like mine, and the field is abundantly sown with iron and non-ferrous debris, then I recommend using the following program, which I called “PARK”:

Based on the 3rd program, Deus Fast, we make small changes that may vary depending on your search conditions and location:

Discrimination 4.2 (pro - 3 tones, pro in tones: according to your hearing, I put 202 Hz, 559 Hz, 835 Hz)

Sensitivity 93 (there is no pro setting in the white coil - coil current)

Frequency 14.4 kHz

Gr. gland 3

Speed 2.5 (pro - noise reduction 1)

Volume of weak signals 5-6 (pro - sound overload 1)

mark 00-00

Now to the ground settings: Tracking, pro - cutting out the ground, we don’t cut anything out, ground sensitivity 5 (depending on your digging spot). Manual 88.

This program allows us to easily work on a littered field and not lose depth, which is very important in such places, and tenacity for small things (especially those lying deep).

One of the finds missed by other diggers is a small decoration in a littered field!

There is another option. You can use the basic “Deus fast” setting, it is quite good for trash. But you can make some more changes to it:

12 kHz
Chuika -90, current -2
Speed -2, noise reduction -1
Iron volume -3
GSS-4, Sound overload -1
3 tones
Discrim 4.0
On the ground everything is the same as above.

It’s better to adjust each of the settings on the spot based on your conditions of the mine and the field and the degree of debris.

A button, missing other comrades among the garbage.

Now let's talk about voicing goals. The versatility of XP Deus is just one of the bonuses, another bonus is the customization of voice acting for different purposes. Very often, after an hour or two of digging, we begin to miss some signals. You will think about something, look at something, anything can happen. Signals are lost, concentration drops, findings are missed. It's simple. To prevent this from happening, it is better to adjust the voice acting in Deus to suit you.

For example, let's take 5 tones, which interruptions I use, in order, from top to bottom:

800 – silver sounds great.

Always adjust the voice frequency settings to your taste, but it is better to make quite noticeable differences between them so that you can immediately pick up useful signals by ear!
