Many people consider this type of base easier to install; it’s understandable to insert the lamp into a special mount, then install it in the lamp and close it with a retaining ring, and that’s it! For example, it may not fit well into the lamp (there are low-quality lamps or luminaires), so the fastenings need to be modified. There are no such problems with GU 5.3 lamps.

Initially, GU 5.3 lamps were only halogen lamps, when there were no fluorescent or LED lamps.

They were considered one of the most economical lamps, and were often installed in suspended or suspended ceilings.
