Halogen lamp gu 5.3 35w. Halogen lamps with reflector MR16 GU5.3. Distinctive features of halogen lamps MR16

Halogen lamp MR16 It is a flask, inside of which there is a pressed glass reflector, which is also called a reflector. Inside the flask contains a buffer gas (a compound of iodine and bromine vapor), as well as a special filament coil. The reflector itself consists of a number of relatively small edges and serves to direct and distribute the rays produced by the lamp itself.

The angle of the light flux varies from approximately seven to sixty degrees.

Symbols for Osram halogen lamps, which are used to mark the angle of luminous flux:

VNSP- Very narrow spot - less than 8 degrees;

NSP- Narrow spot - from 8 to 15 degrees;

SP- Spot - from 8 to 20 degrees;

NFL- Narrow flow - from 24 to 30 degrees;

FL- Flow - from 35 to 40 degrees;

WFL- Wide flow - from 55 to 60 degrees;

VWFL- Very wide flow - from 60 degrees and above.

Often the color temperature halogen lamps MR16 reaches a value of 2700K, which corresponds to a warm white glow.

The service life of lamps of this type reaches two thousand five hundred hours, which is identical to fourteen hours of continuous operation per day for six months.

Specialists in the field of lighting devices are constantly working to improve halogen lamps, reduce their energy consumption and versatility of use.

Nowadays you can find halogen lamps on wide sale, in which electricity consumption is reduced by more than thirty percent, as well as other models halogen lamps MR16 with sockets E27 and E14.

Distinctive features of halogen lamps MR16:

Great light power

Stable luminous intensity and geometric position of points in color space throughout the entire service life

Consistent bluish tint of light emerging from the back of the reflector

Dichroic reflector to reduce heat in the light beam by up to 66%

Approval for use in open luminaires according to IEC 60598-1

UV filter

Possibility of adjusting the luminous flux

Color temperature 3,000 K

Guys, today I want to talk about lamps with a GU 5.3 base; some installers of suspended ceilings use them as an alternative to GX53 lamps. It should be noted that GU 5.3 appeared much earlier, and then they were based on halogen lamps...

LampGU 5.3– based on a pin base, the distance between the electrodes is about 5.3 mm, hence the lamp got its name.

Many people consider this type of base easier to install; it’s understandable to insert the lamp into a special mount, then install it in the lamp and close it with a retaining ring, and that’s it! For example, it may not fit well into the lamp (there are low-quality lamps or luminaires), so the fastenings need to be modified. There are no such problems with GU 5.3 lamps.

A little background

Initially, GU 5.3 lamps were only halogen lamps, when there were no fluorescent or LED lamps.

They were considered one of the most economical lamps, and were often installed in suspended or suspended ceilings. They shone really brightly (the luminous flux of one lamp was approximately 600 Lm), but it would be a stretch to call them energy-saving - the energy consumption of one such lamp was 40 - 60 W, which is quite a lot by modern standards. However, these lamps did not receive widespread, all because halogen lamps operated from 12 Volts; to install them, a special power supply was needed, that is, they could not be turned on directly at 220 Volts. Many people didn’t bother with these units and halogen lamps (it’s all a chore), and therefore installed the ones that were popular in those days Spotlights R50 or R63.

LampGU 5.3 now

Now is a new era, new energy efficient lamps. Appeared LED bulbs, which consume several times less than old halogen ones.

Manufacturers have resurrected the GU 5.3 lamp format and it has become quite popular for installers of suspended ceilings. The thing is that now these lamps operate on 220 Volts and they do not need any power supplies, and the energy consumption is only 5 - 5.5 W for the same 400 - 600 Lm (luminous flux).

YES, and it’s really easy to attach them, just insert the lamp into a special mount, then immerse it in the lamp itself and secure it with a locking ring. ALL!

AboutGAUSS

To be honest, I have enough lamps for GU 5.3 lamps, because in some rooms, and even in the hall, we took lamps with decorative elements (glass, that’s what my wife wanted). And for them it was necessary to buy lamps. Again I went through a bunch of companies, and still settled on GAUSSGU 5.3 lamps, they do not turn yellow, do not “blue”, the light is really white and warm, so to speak, with a natural glow. I recently bought a couple more lamps, the price is approximately 200 - 210 rubles per lamp.

So if you guys are making suspended ceilings, then you can also consider GU 5.3 lamps and luminaires. A worthy replacement for GX 53 lamps.

Now short video according to the lamps, I installed GAUSS, there is a glow from these lamps, so let’s take a look.

That's all, choose the right lamps.
